The following day, according to Meaney, a Vermont resident contacted Medfield Police after learning her credit card had been stolen in December of 2010.

"It has been alleged that Mr. Walsh is the individual who stole the credit card," Meaney said. "The numerous charges result from the numerous times the credit card has been used since that time. this is not a case of Mr. Walsh being accused of stealing 40 identities but is related to the number of times the credit card was used."

Meaney said it was "a complete coincidence" that Medfield Police learned of the four warrants, arrested Walsh and received the phone call on Wednesday, April 6 from the "victim in Vermont."

"The reason the charges were brought so quickly is so a judge could have the information on the additional charges before setting bail," Meaney said.

The warrants placed on Walsh were from Dedham District for multiple charges and Salem District for speeding. He also faces received stolen credit card charges.
