Medfield Man Arrested After Allegedly Showing Gun in ‘Road Rage’ Incident

A Medfield man was arrested on Friday, Sept. 23 after allegedly showing a gun during a “road rage” incident, according to police reports.

“Dover Police Department received a 911 call reporting a road rage incident on Glen Street,” Dover Police Chief Peter McGowan told Patch in an e-mail. “Victim states that another car passed him, [operator] exited his vehicle and words were exchanged. At one point, the victim alleges the suspect brandished a firearm."

Dover Police arrested the suspect, Benjamin A. Morrow, 28, of 45 Janes Ave., Medfield, after Medfield Police located Morrow at his apartment, according to police reports. Morrow was charged with one count of assault with a deadly weapon (gun), one count of assault deadly weapon (car), negligent operation of a motor vehicle and threats to commit a crime, according to McGowan.

Medfield Chief of Police Robert E. Meaney Jr. said Dover Police made the arrest in Medfield because it was the most efficient option for both departments.

“Dover can make the arrest because it was a felony and it makes the situation simpler than bringing him to Medfield for initial booking and then transporting him to Dover,” Meaney said.

The gun, according to Meaney, was a pellet gun that was turned over to Medfield Police.

According to police reports, Medfield Police received a “be on the lookout” (BOLO) call from Dover Police at 5:40 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23 for a motor vehicle allegedly operated by Morrow.

The vehicle came back to 45 Janes Ave., Medfield, according to police reports and Medfield Police located the vehicle outside that address. At 6:11 p.m., Dover Police arrived to the scene to arrest Morrow, according to police reports.
