Medfield Man Arrested, Accused of Stabbing

Matthew Brady of Medfield was arrested in relation to a stabbing incident Friday night.

According to Medfield Police Chief Robert Meaney, Brady was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon (knife) and is being held at the Dedham House of Correction.

Meaney said the victim, who is expected to recover from the assault, and Brady are known to each other.

According to a police press release, the assault was reported as an altercation between a small group of individuals, shortly before 10 p.m. Friday. The location was Route 27 in the area of the former landfill.

Upon arrival, responding units found the victim, who had been assaulted with a knife. The suspect was brought into custody in the vicinity, the release said.

Brady was expected to be arraigned in Dedham on Monday.
