Medfield Fire Dept. Attends Boston Firefighters' Funerals
The funerals for Fire Lt. Ed Walsh and Firefighter Mike Kennedy were held in Watertown and West Roxbury this week.
Members of the Medfield Fire Department this week joined with others to remember and honor Boston Fire Lt. Edward Walsh and Boston Firefighter Michael Kennedy.
The two Boston firefighters who lost their lives last week battling a 9-alarm fire in Boston’s Back Bay, and will be honored in September when their names are added to the Fallen Fire Fighter’s Memorial Wall of Honor in Colorado.
Officials on Friday said the Back Bay fire was caused by a group of welders that accidentally ignited the blaze that killed the two firefighters and injured about 20 more first responders.
