Kids Setting Off Fireworks, Muddy Man Behind Wheelock, Six Inches of Water in Basement

Here's a glance at the Medfield safety log for Sunday, Feb. 3.

Sunday, Feb. 3

1:02 a.m., Longmeadow Road. Caller reported a white sedan with youths in it lighting fireworks at the end of Longmeadow Road. Police responded and will take one male subject back to the station to call for a ride. His car will be parked on Acorn Drive til the morning.

7:29 a.m., Castle Avenue. E911 caller said a man just came to his house and asked him to call the police for a broken water pipe at a neighbor's house where he is house sitting. Medfield Fire discovered six inches of water in the basement; they turned off water and power to the house. House sitter will contact homeowner.

8:12 a.m., 6:40 p.m., Spring Street. Traffic control at St. Edward's Church.

9:16 a.m., Main Street. Traffic control at United Church of Christ.

10:32 a.m., Plain Street. Caller reported that, overnight, someone had damaged his mailbox and post valued at $300. He said his neighbor had the same problem.

10:57 a.m., Ice House Road. Walk-in report from a man who said his wallet was stolen at a restaurant last night. The restaurant called this morning to say they found the wallet but he wanted it noted that $150 was stolen from it. 

4:59 p.m., Elm Street. Caller said a male subject around 50 years old came out of the woods behind Wheelock School covered in mud and soaking wet. Nothing found.
