Kids at State Hospital, Sounds Like Gunshots, Smashed Mailboxes and More

Here's a look at the Medfield police log for July 21 and July 22. 

Sunday, July 21

8:08 a.m., Spring Street. Traffic control at St. Edward’s Church.

9:15 a.m., Main Street. Traffic control at the United Church of Christ.

12:23 p.m., North Meadows Road. Police were with a minor car accident on North Meadows Road.

6:08 p.m., High Street. Traffic enforcement at Granite Street. No citations issued.

8:43 p.m., Pheasant Road. Caller said the neighbors are lighting off fireworks.

9:26 p.m., Stuart Street. Caller said she heard what sounded like gun shots behind her house.

10:01 p.m., Hospital Road. Medfield State Hospital security guard received a report from a Longmeadow Road resident of six kids walking onto the property. Gone on arrival but police did remove a car from Hospital field.

Monday, July 22 

4:51 a.m., Causeway Street. Caller reported a large branch came down on the wires near Noon Hill Road. Police said the wires are almost touching the ground so the street was closed, and NSTAR and Verizon were notified. NSTAR responded at 5:40 a.m. and Verizon arrived at 6:30 a.m.

8:10 a.m., Birch Road. Caller reported a suspicious vehicle parked on the street.Police noted it was a detail officer’s vehicle.

8:28 a.m., Granite Street. Police said a woman spoke with him about her mailbox being smashed last night .
