Injured Hawk, Escaped Dog, Gun Club, and More

The following information was provided by the Medfield Police Department. All arrests are reported. Charges do not indicate a conviction.

Here's a look at the Medfield police log for July 17 and July 18. 

Wednesday, July 17 

5:48 a.m., West Street. Caller reported “some type of animal” was hit by a car. Police responded and said the highway department would pick it up.

7:26 a.m., Main Street. Medfield Ambulance reported the smell of gas at the Bank of America ATM near Shaw’s. The gas company was notified.

9:40 a.m., Ledgetree Road. Caller reported a black mailbox was stolen overnight.

11:01 a.m., Country Way. E911 caller reported bleeding from the mouth after having throat surgery.

2:19 p.m., South Street. Dog sitter reported that the dog got free, ran across Route 27, was possibly hit by a car, and then ran off toward St. Edward’s Church. Animal Control was notified.

6:45 p.m., Gun Club Road. Caller spoke with police about a past breaking and entering.

Thursday, July 18

5:23 a.m., Park Street. An alarm rang from a medical office. False alarm.

1:40 p.m., North Street. Police helped someone with a civil matter.

3:55 p.m., Pine Street. Two boys called to say they heard strange noises in the house.  Police said the house was clear.

6:15 p.m., Snyder Road. Caller said he had an injured hawk in his backyard. Animal Control was notified.

7:02 p.m., North Street and Farm Street (Dover). Police received a walk-in report and a phone call about an erratic driver going north on North Street from Farm Street. The vehicle (a 1986 white Audi) then crossed into Dover. Dover Police were notified. Gone on arrival.

8 p.m., Elm Street.  Walpole Police called to report an erratic driver on Elm Street coming into Medfield on Route 27.  Police looked for the green 1996 Toyota Camry with no luck.
