Four Medfield Teens Issued Summons for Destruction of Property

Police say four teens allegedly threw rocks at a locomotive behind the Medfield Animal Shelter on West Street on March 27; Identities were not released because the teens had not been charged yet.

Four Medfield teenagers were issued summons by the Medfield Police Department after they allegedly broke windows to a locomotive parked on the railroad tracks behind the Medfield Animal Shelter on West Street, according to police reports.

Medfield Police received a call on Sunday, March 27 at 5:27 p.m. complaining “youths were throwing rocks by the railroad tracks on West Street.” Officer James O’Neil reported to the scene and found a group of four teenagers, each 18 years old, by the locomotive behind the Medfield Animal Shelter, according to police reports.

Medfield Chief of Police, Robert Meaney Jr. said the locomotive has been there in storage for “about a year” and there was damage done to its headlight and windows.

“The headlight and a couple windows were shattered by rocks,” Meaney said.

The four teens were issued summons for the incident, according to police reports. Each of the four teens received similar summons for destruction of property greater than $250 and malicious attempted breaking and entering.

“The complaints have gone to court but the individuals have not yet been charged,” Meaney said.
