Mutual Aid Proves Key During Snow Burst.

During the evening commute on Thursday, December 26 the Medfield Fire Department was summoned to many calls in a 15-20 minute period requiring mutual aid from 7 agencies. First call was South Street by Elm Street for an SUV vs pole. The pole was displaced and wires burning but intact however power was cut to the area for a few hours.

Engine 1 went from there to South & Loeffler for a 3-vehicle crash - one utility vehicle rolled multiple times. That operator was transported to Beth Israel Boston by Ambulance 1 and Events EMS Ambulance Service and 2 refusals from were obtained.

Engine 3, Walpole Firefighters IAFF Local 2464's Ambulance and Millis Fire Department's Ambulance went to Foundry and Philip for another crash-3 minors transported to area hospitals.

Squad 6 went with a Norfolk Ambulance to Harding and West Mill and obtained 2 refusals.

Squad 6 also went to Pine St for another crash but no injuries.

Police departments from at least 3 towns had to assist with the other crashes.

Medfield Fire Department thanks the many agencies who responded to Medfield to help during the surge in calls and it shows how key mutual aid is now-a-days.
