Driving Without a License, Rollover with Injuries, Man in Yard, and More

Here's a glance at the Medfield safety logs for March 18 and March 19.


Monday, March 18

12:31 a.m., Granite Street. Caller reports a strange car at the corner of Granite Street and Hummingbird Lane with youths in it. Gone on arrival.

1:14 a.m., Turtle Brook Way. Caller said his wife is not feeling well and he wants her taken to the hospital. Medfield ambulance took her to Needham.

8:55 a.m., Causeway Street. Caller reported a while man in his late 20s wearing a backpack and possibly carrying a rifle on Causeway Street in the area of the Charles River. Police said the men had metal detectors.

12:55 p.m., Main Street. Police stopped a 2006 BMW SE 325XI and the driver was unlicensed. Police are seeking a summons for a 38-year-old man from Quincy for speeding in violation of a special regulation, and unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle. 

3 p.m., School Street. Caller reported his mailbox is missing.

7:36 p.m., Hale Place. Police investigated a parking complaint on Hale Place and determined there was no problem with parking. 

9:23 p.m., South Street. E911 caller reported suspicious activity on South Street after her neighbor told her there was somebody in her yard, and they may have taken something. The man is walking down South Street toward Indian Hill Road. Police spoke with the caller and the neighbor. The subject was not found and it's not clear if anything was taken. 

11:05 p.m., Carmen Circle. E911 caller said she is not feeling well and would like the EMTs to check her out. No transport.

Tuesday, March 19 

5 a.m., station. Chief Meaney called to report there is no school today in the town of Medfield. 

11:02 a.m., Hartford Street near Rocky Woods. E911 caller reported a car accident rollover with personal injury. A Dover resident driving a 2009 Honda Accord was taken to Norwood Hospital.

2:45 p.m., Main Street. Caller reported an elderly man fell in front of the Thomas Upham House. No transport necessary.

4:56 p.m., Kenney Road. Police responded to a family disturbance about a teen trying to take the family car without permission.

5:22 p.m., Hatters Hill Road. E911 caller said his 10-month-old was having trouble breathing. Medfield ambulance reported no problem.

7:17 p.m., Philip Street and South Street. E911 caller said she was just in a car accident with no personal injury. Two tow trucks needed for a 2011 Volkswagen Jetta and a 1998 Toyota Camry. 

8:45 p.m., West Street. Caller said she thought someone stole some of her mail. 

9:48 p.m., mutual aid. Millis Police asked Medfield ambulance to respond to Crestview Road, Millis, for a female who has been drinking. At 9:54 p.m., Millis Fire called to cancel.
