UPDATED: Abandoned Vehicle Leads to Medfield Police Investigation at Noon Hill Reservation

Medfield Police are trying to locate the owner of a motor vehicle left at the sand pit of the Noon Hill Reservation in Medfield.

are currently trying to locate the owner of an abandoned vehicle at the Noon Hill Reservation after investigating the incident Wednesday afternoon with the .

"Officers noticed that the vehicle had been there overnight," Medfield Chief of Police Robert E. Meaney Jr. said.

Medfield Police and Fire units responded to a report of an abandoned grey Ford F150 at the sand pit of the Noon Hill Reservation on Noon Hill Road Wednesday afternoon (approximately 2:30 p.m.) and did a "quick search" of the area with no luck of finding the vehicle's owner, according to Meaney.

"We are trying to locate the owner of the truck," Meaney said. "We did a quick look through the woods with the fire department just to make sure nobody was up there on a trail injured and there wasn’t anybody."

Meaney said Medfield Police are unsure of the details of the incident at this time and that it is premature to label it a case of a missing person.

"Whether the truck has been stolen and dumped here or it broke down and the person left it here, we’re not quite sure about that yet," Meaney said. "So we are just going to try and work that out and see if we can find the person who owns the vehicle ... drives the [vehicle] and who drove it here and where they are."

The incident is currently under investigation by Medfield Police.
