POLL: Do you agree with Concord's water bottle ban?

Should water bottles be illegal?

The town of Concord is now the first town in the nation to ban the sale of bottled water in anything less than a one-liter container.

Last week, Attorney General Martha Coakley ruled that the decision made by Concord's April town meeting was legal.

The first offense for selling bottled water in Concord will result in a warning, the second offense is a $25 fine, and each offense thereafter yields a $50 fine.

What do you think?  Do you agree with the water bottle ban?   Take our poll and let us know.

Have more to say?  Is this conservation at its best?  Is it "Big Brother" at its worse?  Tell us in the comment box below.

I urge everyone who visits Concord tourists and locals alike to Buy a Giant Water bottle in Protest and visit the downtown and Old North Bridge. Lets pain the town with Water Bottles!!! "Time for a Water Bottle "Revolution" :-This is GOVERNMENT GONE OUT OF CONTROL. (What a surprise in ULTRA LIBERAL CONCORD). I will continue to bring water bottles into Concord (I will buy them at Town Pantry In Winchester and Fern's in Carlisle). Just try to stop me. I urge a Boycott of Concord by tourists and locals alike until they reverse the ban. Either that or don't listen to the law and bring in Water bottles anyway. If everyone does it how can they enforce it. Can they arrest or fine everyone who has a water bottle?

This is Government Gone Wild. Out of control. Not surprised that it happened in Ultra Liberal Concord. We need a change in this state. This ban should be overturned. I urge everyone to protest it by bringing in the biggest water bottle you can to Concord next time you visit. and drink it in plain sight of the municipal offices. Its time to stage a "Water Bottle Revolution"

If people wan to carry in Bottled water or buy bottled water for hiking in Concord they should be able to. Maybe I just wont go to concord again until the water bottle ban is lifted. I'll take my business elsewhere. I urge other tourists and locals to ban Concord until they reverse the water bottle ban. I've been to Walden Pond already and North Bridge so no need to go back. I guess its good bye Concord until you reverse your ban. I'll take my business to Carlisle, Lincoln, and other towns that let us buy Water and bring water in. I urge other people to boycott Concord and Concord businesses until the government reverses the ban. We have a right to take in water if we want.

So what are they going to arrest me if I bring a bottle of water into Concord now? GO ahead and try.
