Medfield Residents urged to vote "YES" on Article #28 at Town Meeting for Leasing of the Land on Ice House Road
Medfield Residents -
The Town of Medfield purchased the land on Ice House Road specifically to bring further economic activity and tax revenue to the Town of Medfield. Since the purchase of the land, the Senior Center and the Kingsbury Club have been constructed on this property. There remains one “buildable” lot, #3, on the existing property.
Medfield resident and local developer, Robert Borrelli has proposed to the Town of Medfield the construction of a Sports Facility on this 11.2 acre lot owned by the Town of Medfield. There would be no cost to the town for construction and maintenance of the facility.
The proposed 120,000 sq. ft. facility would be used for recreational activities. Three (3) turf fields and one (1) boarded field would be used interchangeably for soccer, box and field lacrosse, flag football and field hockey.
It will also include (4) courts used interchangeably for basketball, futsal and volleyball, all contained within a protected, temperature controlled environment during all four sports seasons.

A major benefit to the Town of Medfield would be that the proposed facility would generate additional tax revenue and lease payment revenue for the town, similar to the Kingsbury Club.
Another benefit being, a facility comparable in size to the proposed facility can host hundreds of teams yearly, increasing the number of visitors to the town. This would greatly increase the customer base for Medfield businesses.

At the Annual Town Meeting on Monday April 28th at 7:30 pm, a public “Voice Vote” will take place in the Medfield High School Gymnasium. The vote on Article #28, will determine whether or not the Town of Medfield will lease the town owned land on Ice House Road needed for this project. If the vote is to lease this lot, it would go out for public bidding.
We ask for the vote of Medfield residents, if you are in favor of this Project. You must be a registered voter in the town of Medfield to vote.
