Ruth Ann (Glaeser) Luecke: Medfield Resident, Hannah Adams Women's Club Member

Services will be held on Tuesday, April 22 in Medfield.

The following obituary is courtesy of the Roberts-Mitchell Funeral Home in Medfield.

Ruth Ann (Glaeser) Luecke, 82, of Medfield where she has been a resident since 1966, died Thursday, April 10, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving children.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania she was the daughter of the late Elmer J. and Charlotte Anna (Siegfried) Glaeser.

Ruth attended Douglass College, Rutgers University and graduated from Valparaiso University. Formerly of New Jersey, she had been employed by the Town of Norfolk as a teacher for 22 years until her retirement in 1997.

Ruth was a member of the Hannah Adams Women’s Club and the Church of the Advent in Medfield. She was a longtime volunteer at the Medfield Food Cupboard and The Ralph Wheelock School. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, teacher and friend, Ruth loved her bridge groups, knitting and whooping the family daily at Scrabble.

Adored wife and first mate of the late Wilbur L. Luecke, she is survived by her sons Stephen J. Luecke of Medfield, David C. Luecke and his wife Judy of Hillsboro, OR, Jeffrey T. Luecke and his wife Janice of Burlington, MA, and daughter Cynthia J. Foster and her husband Edwin of Medfield. She leaves eight grandchildren, Michelle Luecke File, Nick Luecke, Matthew Luecke, Courtney Foster, Kyle Foster, Edwin Foster, Samantha Luecke and Adam Luecke as well

as two great grandchildren, Logan and Sophia File. She also leaves her adored goddaughter Susan Smith Muehlbauer and several other nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by her sister Margie Smith.

A service celebrating Ruth’s life, to which all are invited, will be held Tuesday, April 22 at 11 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Advent, 28 Pleasant St., Medfield.
