Raymond Pierson Moore Jr., 88, Died on Nov. 23

He served in World War II and is credited as one of the inventors of the transistor during his time at RCA.

Raymond Pierson Moore Jr., 88, formerly of Medfield, died peacefully on Nov. 23, 2013.

He was a devoted husband of 63 years to his wife, Elizabeth Katherine Holtzclaw Moore.

He is survived by Elizabeth; his brother, Dr. Shedrick H. Moore; and his children, Sharon Moore and her husband, Robert Hynes, of New Hampshire; Steven Moore of California; and Lauren Moore Stabinsky and her husband, Robert Stabinsky, of Pennsylvania; his grandchildren, Devin and Caitlin Hynes, Jennifer Moore, Nicholas (wife Venera) and Danielle Stabinsky Elwell (husband Bryan); and his great-grandchildren, Evelin and Mirabella Stabinsky.

Ray served in the U.S. Navy during WWII and was a graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Boston University. He is credited as one of the inventors of the transistor during his time at RCA. He worked many years for Pan American Airlines, followed by Raytheon Data Systems, where he worked until his retirement. He will be sorely missed by all who knew him..

Services: There are no calling hours; the Cremation Society of N.H. is assisting the family with arrangements. An online tribute page can be found at www.csnh.com. A celebration of life will be held at a future date.
