Outreach Services

Things change. Library users often find themselves in new situations where they’re no longer able to physically get to the library. This shouldn't mean that they can’t still get their favorite books, movies, music and more. The Medfield Library strives to make access to information and materials available to everyone in the community. If you are unable to come to the library, we’ll come to you. Outreach Services allow anyone in their homes, at the Thomas Upham House, Tilden Village, or any other place in Medfield, to have library materials delivered on a weekly basis.

Outreach Services came about when we noticed that some of our long time patrons were no longer able to get to the library as often as they used to. They still had that insatiable appetite for more books, movies, or music, but either couldn’t get to the library at all, or if they could, it was very infrequently. We put ourselves in their shoes and realized how much we would miss library. When we heard that a frequent library user was staying at the Thomas Upham House recovering from an injury, we talked with her about her reading interests and were able to keep her supplied with all the mystery books she loves.

If you would like this service, we’d be happy to sit down with you to see what kinds of books, music, movies, playaways, magazines, etc. you would like to receive. Once a week we deliver materials to people all over Medfield. Since we’re responsible for the return of the items, there aren’t any fines to worry about. Please sign up if you are interested in having us bring your library to you. To sign up, visit MedfieldLibrary.org, call the library to ask for a visit.
