For the past ten years, the Medfield Library has offered our patrons a convenient way to read new releases from their favorite authors. The Bestsellers Club has been a popular tool to guarantee that you will be on a request list for the new titles from the authors of your choice. The library staff purchases the new title, places your request, and notifies you by email or phone when it is available for you to pick-up.
With the advances in technology and various reading habits, we would like to make some changes to accommodate all readers. Instead of just providing you with a list of what we consider “bestsellers,” we would like to know what authors you want to read in the future. The authors you choose may be on our list or not. We will be updating our author list, as some authors have died or stopped writing i.e., Tom Clancy, Vince Flynn, Maeve Binchy and Jan Karon.
We would also like to provide you with a choice of reading formats. Instead of just the print edition of a book, we do have books on CDs and Playaways.
Large print editions are also an option. Other options for your reading are the eBooks and downloadable audiobooks, which are available through the Minuteman Digital Media Catalog, http://digital.minlib.net. In order to see all of the digital titles available through the Medfield Library you must log into your account first. Unfortunately, not all formats are available in every title, but we will do our best to help you with your requests
We, the staff, are working on a plan to allow all of our patrons to be able to choose authors of their choice and reading formats that are convenient to their lifestyles.
Your help and suggestions are always appreciated. In the meantime, a new Bestseller Club form is in the planning stage along with an online form. Our goal is to keep you informed of new fiction and nonfiction titles and make the selection process easier for you.
