Second Saturday of Medfield Green Month

Just a reminder that this Saturday, May 10 is the Second Saturday of Medfield Green Month at the Transfer Station 9-1

Boomerangs will be collecting furniture and household items in good condition.  Items will be resold to benefit the Aids Action Committee.  They will be collecting living room, dining room and bedroom furniture in addition to artwork, picture frames, vases, collectibles, giftware, kitchenware and linens.  They do not accept mattress, futons, TVs and appliances.  Please clean pet hair off items due to allergies.  Check out www.action.acc.org for more details.

The Sports Swap will take place from 9-1 at the Wheelock Circle.  Accepting all kinds of sports equipment, except skis or ski equipment.  Anyone is welcome to take items, donation not required.  Leftover soccer equipment will be donated.  Come and "shop" or get rid of unwanted items!

The Swap Area provides residents an opportunity to find a new life for their items.  It is now open at the Transfer Station every Wed, Fri and Sat from May through October 9-3 (drop off only until 2:30).   The Swap accepts clean, working (or easily repairable) household items such as toys/games/educational materials; bicycles, exercise equipment, sporting goods;  household electric and decorative items;  baby items;  tools, hardware;  building materials (limited quantity), garden/yard items;  office furniture/supplies; furniture; entertainment items; books and magazines. The Swap does NOT accept TVs, CRTs, automobile parts, tires, oil, concrete and gypsum.

Transfer sticker required (but not for the Sports Swap at Wheelock).

We could still use a few extra hands this Saturday 5/10 and next 5/17 (even just for 1 or 2 hrs) to assist the vendors and hand out fliers.  Please email hdewey@comcast.net if you have any time to spare. We especially need help 9-11, 11-1 and 1-3 on the 17th.

Last but certainly not least....

Special thanks to Stephanie Farne for coordinating a very successful Charles River Clean Up on April 26th.  Despite the cold and rainy weather they managed to fill 9 large bags of recyclables and 8 large bags of trash (Yeh!  more recyclables than trash!), as well as collecting a chair and two tires!  Thanks to Barb Meyer for coordinating the recycling effort!   The volunteers were very enthusiastic - they worked energetically scaling up and down the banks, dodging brush and branches, to grab bottles, cans and trash.  Someone also trekked quite a distance to fetch a 5 gallon bucket!  WOW - impressive!  Thanks again Stephanie and Barb!

Check out Medfieldgreen.org for the full schedule of collections

Hope to see you at the Transfer Station - the place to be in May!
