Medfield Animal Shelter's Featured Pet for the Week of February 18, 2013

Every Week the Medfield Animal Shelter features an adoptable pet. This week Augustus, a handsome orange tabby is hoping to find his special someone.

Augustus is a big, orange tabby boy who lost his home when his owner went into a nursing home and her family just dumped the cats on the street. This kind woman cared for all the strays in her neighborhood but had a special fondness for 4 cats that came into her home every day and she thought of them as her personal pets lavishing them with lots of love. Medfield Animal Shelter took in her cats even though most of them where very shy having been former street cats. With 3 being placed it leaves just big Auggie looking for new digs. He was fostered for 10 days in a volunteer's home but he did not fit in with the children, big dog and very busy household. He has returned hoping for a home with less noise and would love to have the companionship of another nice cat that he can be best buddies with. Right now he and our other shelter cat, Raven share a cubby.  He can turn to putty when  you scratch behind his ears and tell him how handsome he is. Auggie is not a feral cat, he's just a shy fellow who is a gentle bear.
