Medfield Animal Shelter: Meet Patrick

Every week the Medfield Animal Shelter features and adoptable pet. This week our pet is Patrick.

Patrick was rescued by Spay Worcester, a group that is working to end cat overpopulation in their area. Patrick lived in a neighborhood where many cats lived under buildings and stoops and would go from dumpster to dumpster looking for food. A caretaker would leave food in several location and the cats would stream in to eat and get a pat on the head before she had to leave. Patrick would be one of the first to  run to her hoping she could take a moment and be with him. He was so dirty from life on the streets that his vet record has him listed as gray, even though when he cleans up he will be bright white. His very round head and close set eye are reminiscent of a British Shorthair.

After one week at the Medfield Shelter and one bath, Patrick has become a real favorite with his chatty nature and good disposition. He loves his large walk in cage where he watches the birds and squirrels at the feeders and eagerly awaits his favorite volunteers who just as eagerly feed him Taste Temptation treats as an afternoon snack. Patrick wants to be your only cat it appears.

The Shelter has so many nice adult cats in need of homes that we are dropping our adoption fee for adult cats to $25 during our March Madness special!  Any cat over 6 months old adopted between March 7th and March 16th is eligible.  We will be extending our adoption hours on March 9th to 11:00 - 2:00 in order to give more people a chance to come in and see all the great adult cats in our care. So please come meet Patrick and if you fall in love with him, he can have his bags packed and be ready to go in no time! Yopu can see all the pets in the Shelter's care on our website, MedfieldShelter.com.
