Last Chance: Expert Talks 'Antiques 101' in Medfield Thursday

Paul Royka, a nationally-known appraiser who has appeared on PBS’s Antiques Road Show, will lecture on “Antiques 101” and answer your questions about valuing antiques and collectibles On Thursday, May 10 at the Dwight-Derby House.

This entertaining and educational presentation, which will take place at the 7 Frairy St. historical home, starts at 7 p.m. Admission is free and open to the public. If you love antiques or are just interested in learning more about them you won’t want to miss this program.

Royka will follow up this lecture with a walk-in Appraisal Day on Saturday, June 2, between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. at the at 6 Pleasant St. (just behind the library). Be sure to bring your treasures as participants meet individually with Royka and receive a verbal assessment of their material.

The event is free to historical society members and $10 for non-members. The society will waive the $10 non-member fee if you pay on the spot to join the society. The free/$10 fee entitles participants to have up to three items appraised. Additional items may be appraised for an additional fee. Event proceeds will benefit the Medfield Historical Society.
