Medfield's First Parish Presents 'Acres of Diamonds' on March 4

Medfield's on North Street will be holding "Social Action Sunday" on March 4.

The guest speaker in the pulpit will be poet-writer-trainer Sam Williams, whose sermon is entitled, “Acres of Diamonds.” Services begin at 10 a.m.

Williams is Chief Operating Officer and leader of the United Souls Men’s Group of the UU Urban Ministry. He is responsible for youth programs, Renewal House domestic violence shelter, and United Souls support and counseling for those recently released from prison. Williams is chair of Northeastern University’s Institute of Race and Justice.

The First Parish Unitarian Universalist Church is located near the center of Medfield, at 26 North St., next to Meetinghouse Pond. It serves residents of Medfield, Millis, Medway, Walpole, Norfolk, and surrounding towns. Childcare is available, and there is an active religious education program for children ages 5 to 14.

The church especially welcome explorers interested in learning more about the UU principles and values, two of which are the inherent worth and dignity of every person; and justice, equity and compassion in human relations.
