You've Been Booed (or Ghosted)

When someone rings your doorbell and leaves you a bag of candy with a note, You've Been Boo'ed!

Have you been Boo'ed yet this Halloween season? Or "Ghosted," as some might say?

Did your doorbell ring and you opened the door to find a bag of candy lying at your feet? If so, then you've likely been Boo'ed.

If not, it's a fun thing to start in your neighborhood. It's a lot like ding-dong-ditch (or "witch," in this case), and this is how it works.

The idea is to leave a bag of candy on the doorstep of a friend without them knowing who did it. At home, you fill a bag of candy (or other treats), attach an anonymous note (links below), ring the doorbell and disappear FAST like a ghost.

If you're lucky, there is a tree or a bush or a car that you can hide behind and still see the bag. The best part is when they open the door, look around and see no one, look down and see the bag, and then look around again.

They read the note which says "You've Been Boo'ed" and then they have a bag of candy to enjoy. The bag also contains a note that says, "We've Been Boo'ed" which they hang in their window so they don't get Boo'ed again. This way LOTS of kids in the neighborhood will get Boo'ed, not just the same ones all the time.

Later, the recipient goes on to Boo (or Ghost) another house and it goes on and on, usually for the week preceding Halloween.

It's fun, all the cool kids are doing it, all the while trying to figure out who left the bag on their doorstep.
