Two Medfield High School Destination ImagiNation Teams headed for Global Finals

Two Medfield High School "Destination ImagiNation" teams recently won a state competition to compete in the Global Finals, which will be held in May.

From a live “coming attractions” movie trailer to a community service oriented “project outreach,” Destination Imagination (DI) teams have been working hard since last fall to think creatively and critically and were recently rewarded at the Massachusetts State DI Tournament with winning scores.

The two state champion MHS teams, with 34 other winning teams from across Massachusetts, are setting their sights on the Global Finals Destination Imagination competition in May.

But first, the teams need to raise over $20,000 to cover the costs of the teams’ participation in DI Global Finals. You can help Medfield students Isobel, Hannah, Ally, Jen, Sean, David, Elliot, Chris, Ryan, Caroline, Kelsey, Andrew, and Jesse by logging onto http://www.razoo.com/story/Medfield-Di to make a donation. Your donations are tax deductible. At the site, you can also check out more photos and view the teams’ performances.

In addition, the teams are planning a variety of fundraising events in Medfield over the next month and a half. They are planning raffle ticket sales, car washes, a barn sale, and an event at the on May 10.

Destination ImagiNation (DI) is an extraordinary non-profit organization that provides educational programs for students to learn and experience creativity, teamwork, and problem solving. Every year, DI reaches 125,000 students across the U.S. and in more than 30 countries. Medfield Destination is sponsored and supported by the . 

The core program is an educational one in which student teams solve open-ended challenges and present their solutions at tournaments. All teams must solve the problem with no adult intervention, no matter what age. Challenges can involve technical, theatrical, and improvisational skill building. Destination ImagiNation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization with more than 1.3 million alumni and a global network of 35,000 volunteers.
