Baby Steps for Social Media Campaigns

1. Engage your followers. Engaged followers outweigh the number of followers any day.
2. Do not talk about your small business but rather what your small business can do to benefit other businesses.
3. Use social media to free up your phone lines. Encourage your existing customers to reach out via your social platforms to make an inquiry or seek assistance. (Be sure to monitor daily so as to provide prompt feedback).
4. Build your social relationships through humility and courtesy. Like those who like your pages, follow those who follow you, connect to those who reach out via LinkedIn. Also, locate the influencers in your market and get to know and establish connections to them.
5. Make your message relevant! Do not Tweet, Pin, Post, Yelp, Hoot, or anything social . . . unless it either; generates traffic, provides customer services, or builds a relationship.
6. Now go out and be heard!
