A Roslindale woman was found wandering the streets of Medfield on April 23.

On Tuesday, April 23, around 8:06 p.m., a resident walked into the Medfield Police Station to report an elderly woman wearing a red coat wandering around near Routes 109 and 27.

At first, she was not willing to get out of hte car. Sgt. Mayer assisted me and we did get her to come to the lobby of the station. She was wet and appeared to be cold. She tried to leave the station.

She was carrying an expired driver's license on which she had three different addresses in Roslindale, the most recent on Granfield Avenue.

Medfield Police could not find a phone number listed for her so they contacted the Roslindale Police who said they had just been called to that address to take a missing person report a short time ago. The Roslindale detective was asked to call Medfield Police.

A short time later, Detective Peter McCarthy called and stated the family of [the woman] just reported her missing and she had been missing since 1100 [on April 23].  He stated that she had dementia and should have some type of medical attention. He then put the son on and I put him on speakerphone. He then spoke to his mother in Albanian. It was agreed that he would drive to Medfield and pick up his mother.

Medfield EMTs met with the woman and cleared her. Police stayed with her in the interview room until her son (who continued to be on speaker phone) picked her up at 10:30 p.m.

It remains unclear how the woman got to Medfield in the first place.
