Winter Expected to Throw Mix Into Medfield Tuesday

1-3 inches of snow, plus freezing rain and rain, expected Tuesday.

If a shovel could become a scraper and an umbrella, Medfield residents would be all set for the Tuesday morning commute.

One to three inches of snow, followed by freezing rain and then rain, possibly heavy, are expected here Tuesday, the National Weather Service said Monday.

Snow is expected before 2 p.m. then rain and snow combined afterwards. NWS reports possible patches of fog between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m., then Patchy fog after 4 p.m.

The weather service has issued a winter weather advisory for this area, and most of Southeast Massachusetts, as well as Rhode Island and far Eastern Connecticut, for 6 a.m. to 3 p.m.

The rain may cause street flooding Tuesday night, the weather service said. There will likely be patchy fog between 8 p.m. and 1 a.m. with a low around 33 degrees.

Tuesday's high temperature will be around 37 degrees, and approach 40 degrees on Wednesday, the weather service said.

It's the warmest weather in several days.
