What Is It? A Lone Locomotive Engine off Old Bridge Street

Do you know what this is?

You never know what you're going to find when you go out walking.

Recently, some folks were walking along the railroad tracks and came across (what appeared to be) a stranded locomotive engine near West Street and Old Bridge Street.

"What is that?," they asked, and Patch answered.

"The locomotive parked off of West Street is used to move cars from the junction of the CSX rail line at West Mill Street and Adams Street to a site in Millis," said Medfield Police Chief Robert Meaney Jr.

Meaney said this has just started recently and it "seems to occur once every couple weeks or so," he said, noting that the main rail line that goes through Medfield is owned by CSX and the branch line to Millis was owned by Bay Colony Railroad.

Interesting.
