Weekend Planner: July 1-4

The weekend is just around the corner. If the only plans you have are not to stay home because lounging on the couch and watching TV just don’t cut it anymore, then don't worry, Medfield Patch is here to assist you! Check out our list of suggestions of events to attend, places to go, sites to see – all within driving distance of home. 

1. Rolling Stones Tribute band “Satisfaction” at Showcase Live  

Where/When: 23 Patriot Pl., Foxborough; Saturday, July 2, 7:30 p.m.

Why Go: "Satisfaction" - Is a International Rolling Stones Show which plays tribute to one of the World's greatest Rock & Roll Bands.
First come first seated for 7:30 pm show.
Doors open at 6 p.m. for Dinner & Best Seat Selection.

2. The Harvard Pilgrim 10K at Patriot Place

Where/When: , 223 Patriot Pl, Foxborough; Monday, July 4, 9 a.m.

Why Go: The Harvard Pilgrim 10K at Patriot Place begins at 9am, loops through historic Foxborough and ends inside Gillette Stadium. Participants will run through a large inflatable football helmet and finish at the 50-yard line, where they can see themselves on the stadium’s two giant, HD video screens. Last year, more than 3,500 runners crossed the unique finish line.
Online registration for the popular race will remain open until midnight Thursday, June 30 at www.harvardpilgrim10k.com.  

After June 30, runners can register in person throughout the weekend at Patriot Place and on race day from 7 to 9 a.m. at the registration tent behind the Renaissance Hotel next to the Red Robin Restaurant. Online registration for the 10K race is $40 and late registration in person is $50.

Parking is plentiful at Patriot Place throughout the weekend. The event concludes with a post-race celebration at Patriot Place.

Pricing:  $40 online registration and $50 late registration if registered after June 30.

3. Picnic Story Time at Sherborn Library

Where/When: 4 Sanger St, Sherborn; Friday, July 1, 10:30 a.m.

Why Go: Come to a picnic story time for children at the Sherborn Library on Fridays, 10:30 am on July 1, 8, and 22. Bring a snack and a blanket to sit on.

4. Sherborn Independence Day Parade

When/Where: 11 Main St, Dover; Monday, July 4, 2 p.m.

Why Go:  Sherborn will celebrate the 4th of July with this year's themed  "Agricultural History of Sherborn" parade beginning at 2 p.m. The parade route will follow Route 27 to the Jameson Fields. Fire engine rides will begin at 5 p.m. Events are sponsored by the Sherborn Fire and Rescue Association.

5.  Fourth of July Parade in Norwood

Where/When: Washington St., Norwood; Monday, July 4, 5:45 p.m.

Why Go: The parade route runs down Washington Street from Coakley Middle School to the Town Hall and ends in Shaw’s parking lot (across from the Fire Station).

From veterans to politicians to the Town Champion floats for baseball and softball to marching bands to the Colonial Boys to the ever-popular Cycling Murrays, there is something for everyone in this local parade. Walk on down to your favorite spot on the parade route and spend some free time with your friends and neighbors.

6.  Fireworks

Why Go: What would be a Fourth of July celebration without fireworks? Light up your night by attending one of the following shows in the area.
