Weekend Planner: Feb. 3-5

Art, Comedy and Music on the calendar this weekend.

The weekend is just around the corner. If the only plans you have is not to stay home because lounging on the couch and watching TV just isn't cutting it anymore, then don't worry, Medfield Patch is here to assist you! Check out our list of suggestions of events to attend, places to go, sites to see – all within driving distance of home. 

1. POSITIVE Comedy Night Fundraiser

Where/When: , 3 Sanger St., Sherborn; Fri. Feb. 3, 8 p.m.

Why Go: POSITIVE (Parents Offering Support In Time, Involvement, Volunteering, Enthusiasm) will host an adult comedy night fundraiser featuring comedians Tom Hayes, Rob Steen and Mike Kourobis.  Space is limited so get your tickets now.  2. Zullo Art Gallery Features Selected Watercolor Artists From New England

Where/When: , 456A Main St., Medfield; Saturday & Sunday Feb. 4 & 5, noon to 5 p.m.

Why Go:  Zullo Art Gallery presents its newest art exhibit "Selected Watercolor Artists from New England". This exhibit will run every weekend from Feb. 4, 2012 through March 25.

Pricing: Free, Open to all.

 

3. Stefilia's Stone To Perform at Perks Coffeehouse

Where/When: , 685 Washington St., Norwood; Fri., Feb. 3, 8 p.m.

Why Go:  Songstresses Carrie Rowan and Adrienne Fawkes, a musical duo known as Stefilia's Stone, will perform their harmonious  mixture of indie and folk music tonight at Perks Coffeehouse at 8:00 p.m.

Pricing: Free, open to all

4. "Capturing the Past – Preserving the Future" Art Exhibit

Where/When: MA Audubon , 293 Moose Hill St, Sharon; Saturday & Sunday Feb. 4 & 5, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go:  Mass Audubon’s Moose Hill Wildlife Gallery is pleased to announce its newest exhibit “Capturing the Past – Preserving the Future" featuring the work of Robert W. Lesieur (1918-2008).  Mr. Lesieur’s artwork captures and highlights Moose Hill’s tranquil and beautiful landscapes and architecture.

Pricing: Free, Open to all.

5. Bird House Gourd Workshop (Session One of Three)

Where/When: 108 North St, Norfolk (Stony Brook); Sat., Feb. 4, 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.

Why Go:  This weekend Stony Brook will begin a 3 week create your own hand-painted gourd birdhouse workshop. Attract different birds to your yard by learning all the steps needed to create and paint these bird houses from dried gourds.  No experience is needed and all materials will be provided.  The following 2 classes needed to complete your birdhouse will be held on Feb. 11th and 18th.
