Weekend Planner: Dec. 16 - 18

Art, Holiday Events and Pirates on the calendar this weekend.

The weekend is just around the corner. If the only plans you have are not to stay home because lounging on the couch and watching TV just don’t cut it anymore, then don't worry, Medfield Patch is here to assist you! Check out our list of suggestions of events to attend, places to go, sites to see – all within driving distance of home. 

1. Zullo Art Gallery Reception

Where/When: , 456 Main St., Medfield; Sat., Dec. 17 from 7 pm - 9 pm.

Why Go: Zullo Art Gallery will hold a reception for its newest art exhibit "A Second Look", featuring 14 artists selected from this year's 17th Annual Juried Exhibition. The show features photography, watercolor, oil, collage, pastels, woodcuts and graphite focusing on a variety of subjects.

2. George H. Morse Meeting House Holiday Open House

Where/When: The George H. Morse Meeting House, Museum and Education Center, 1285 Washington Street, South Norwood; Sun., Dec. 18 from 1 pm - 4 pm.

Why Go: The George H. Morse Meeting House will hold a special Holiday Open House with home made refreshments.  Please bring a food donation of non-perishable canned goods or food items to help the Norwood food pantry this holiday season.

3. A Holiday Evening With Chris Trapper

Where/When: , 685 Washington St, Norwood; Sun., Dec. 18 from 8 pm - 10 pm.

Why Go: Perks invites you to a holiday evening with music with singer, songwriter and guitarist Chris Trapper in support of the annual Greater Boston TOYS FOR TOTS Campaign.  Please consider bringing one, unwrapped, toy to the show which will be hand-delivered to the Greater Boston Toys for Tots headquarters.  Email Your Reservation Request Here: habit@christrapper.com

4. The Pirates of Penzance Production

Where/When: , 619 High St., Dedham; Fri., Dec. 16 & Sat., Dec. 17, 8:00 p.m. and Sun., Dec. 18, 2:00 p.m.

Why Go: Miss Fiddlehead’s production of Gilbert and Sullivan 'The Pirates of Penzance' spins a hilarious farce of sentimental pirates, bumbling policemen, dim-wited young lvoers, dewy-eyed daughters and an eccentric Major General.

5. "Natural Expressions and Indigenous Colors" Fall Exhibit

Where/When: MA Audobon , 293 Moose Hill St, Sharon; Saturday & Sunday Nov. 26 & 27, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Why Go:  Mass Audubon’s Moose Hill Wildlife Gallery is pleased to announce its new fall exhibit “Natural Expressions and Indigenous Colors” featuring the work of Farnaz Mobayyen.

Experience the energetic, bold and passionate expressions that capture the soul and spirit of the world outside. The spontaneous and creative essence of her work is reflected in the brilliant and colorful paintings which will inspire your imagination and appreciation of nature.  Ms. Mobayyen has exhibited and won awards for her artwork throughout the Massachusetts and Michigan area.
