Sister Hazel, 'Godspell' and Mad Science on the calendar this weekend.

The weekend is just around the corner. If the only plans you have are not to stay home because lounging on the couch and watching TV just don’t cut it anymore, then don't worry, Medfield Patch is here to assist you! 1. Sister Hazel and Guests at Showcase Live

Where/When: 23 Patriot Pl, Foxborough; Friday, Aug. 26, 8 p.m.

Why Go: Alternative rock band, Sister Hazel, will perform at Showcase Live with special guests Jerad Finck and Jon Robert. Doors open at 6 p.m. for 8 p.m. showtime. Concert will be standing room only.

2.  D-S Drama Program Presents ‘Godspell’ at Sherborn Community Center

When/Where: , 3 Sanger St, Sherborn; Friday, Aug. 26 and Saturday, Aug. 27 , 8 p.m.

Why Go: The Dover-Sherborn Summer Drama Program is proud to announce this season's musical, Godspell, at the Sherborn Community Center for four nights from Aug. 24th through Aug. 27th. The show includes a cast of 30 students in grades 7-12 and features familiar songs such as "Day by Day," "Prepare Ye," "All for the Best," and "Beautiful City." Tickets are $15 each and will be on sale at Eaton/Walgreens Sherborn and The Dover Market and The Dover Deli. Godspell is an urban, 1970's version of the Gospel stories using rock, country, gospel, and spiritual style music to translate the famous parables for a modern audience. The music was composed by Stephen Schwartz, well known for his music for Wicked, Children of Eden, and Pippin. The performances will be held at the Sherborn Community Center and are directed by middle school English teacher, Scott Walker. Musical Direction is by Michael Jones and choreography is by Lauryn Walker.

3. Friends in the Fields at Powisset Farm

Where/When: 39 Powisset St, Dover; Saturday, Aug. 27, 1:30 to 4:30 p.m.

Why Go: Come get your hands dirty in the Powisset Farm fields, helping them to plant, weed, and harvest, or with a variety of other farm projects. For all ages and skills. 4. Norwood Sunday Evening Concerts on the Common: The S.O.S. Big Band

Where/When: Norwood Town Common, Washington and Nahatan Streets, Norwood; Sunday, Aug. 28, 7 to 9 p.m.

Why Go: All concerts are rain or shine, 7 to 9 p.m. Bring your lawnchairs.

5. Mad Science Program at Patriot Place

Where/When: 24 Patriot Pl, Foxborough; Friday, Aug. 26, 3 p.m.

Why Go: Summersensation continues at Patriot Place with Mad Science. Mad Science is the world’s leading science enrichment provider. It delivers unique, hands-on science experiences for children that are as entertaining as they are educational.
