Weekend Planner: Scrapbooking, Pizza and Ballroom Dancing

Here's a look at the weekend ahead for April 20-22.

The weekend is just around the corner. If the only plans you have are not to stay home because lounging on the couch and watching TV just don't cut it anymore, then don't worry, Medfield Patch is here to assist you! Check out our list of suggestions of events to attend, places to go, sites to see – all within driving distance of home. 

1. The Peacheaters at the Sherborn Inn

Where/When: 33 N. Main St., Sherborn; Saturday April 21, 9 p.m. to 12 a.m.

Why Go: The Peacheaters: An Allman Brothers Experience will perform at the Sherborn Inn at 9 p.m.

2. 8th Annual Wishes for William Scrapbooking Fundraiser

Where/When: 124 North St., Medfield; Sunday April 22, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Why Go: An incredible amount of supplies and resources will be available to help you organize your photos into a keepsake that your family will treasure forever.  The registration fee of $50 will go to benefit families of SMA (Spinal muscular atrophy). Snacks and lunch will also be provided.  To register for this great cause, please contact Heidi at: heidikjohnson@comcast.net.

3. Medfield Historical Society Open House

Where/When: , 6 Pleasant St., Medfield; Saturday April 7, 10:00 a.m to noon

Why Go: The museum is debuting a special exhibit entitled: "Your Historical Society Then and Now."  There will be lots of interesting photographs, documents and artifacts on display. Feel free to stop in to browse through its collections and materials that document the history of Medfield since its founding in 1649. Learn more about this history of Medfield, your family genealogy, famous people of Medfield and much more.

Pricing: Admission is free and open to the public, although donations to help defray preservation and curation costs are always appreciated.

4. Ballroom Dancing Showcase

Where/When: 193 Dean St., Norwood; Sunday, April 22, 2 to 5 p.m.

Enjoy a fun filled afternoon featuring showcase dancing performances and open dancing including instructions on the Tarantella and Foxy.  Refreshments and a cash bar will also be available.

Pricing: Tickets are $10 and will be available at the door.

5. Norwood Nuggets Youth Hockey Pizza Wars

Where/When: 1315 Washington St., Norwood; Saturday, April 21, 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Why Go: Sample cheese pizza from some of Norwood's best restaurants and pizza shops, including Stash's, Conrads, Dominos, Giorgio's, and Bertucci's then vote on the best tasting.  All proceeds will benefit the Norwood youth hockey.

Pricing: $5 per person (kids under 3 free)
