2.Woodland Theatre Company Presents ‘Nunsense’

Where/When: , 3 Sanger St, Sherborn; Friday, June 3 and Saturday, June 4, 8p.m.

Why Go: Woodland Theatre Company Presents "NUNSENSE" at the Sherborn Theatre.

The Little Sisters of Hoboken are in a jam! Due to a botched recipe from their cook, Sister Julia, Child of God, some 52 nuns have suddenly gone on to their reward! To make matters worse, the nunnery's coffers only have enough money to cover a decent burial for 48 of the departed sisters. With four nuns still in the convent freezer, what’s a Reverend Mother to do? Why, put on a talent show of course, to raise the cash for the funeral fund. Featuring star turns, madcap dance routines, an audience quiz, and comic surprises, she and four of her fellow nuns prove that laughter is truly the best medicine.

Originating from a line of greeting cards, NUNSENSE has gone on to become the second-longest-running Off-Broadway show in history and an international phenomenon.

This show is best suitable for children age 10 and up.

Pricing: $25. Tickets can be purchased here

4. Moya Moya Fundraiser

Where/When: 3 Muskett Ln, Walpole, Saturday, June 4, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Why Go: Justin Doo, an 11 year old Walpole resident was diagnosed with MMD in March 2007 when he was 7 years old.  MMD is a progressive narrowing of the arteries to the brain.  It restricts blood flow to the brain, often times resulting in TIAs/mini-strokes, or even worse a stroke.  This disease affects only 1 in 2,000,000 people.  The only option is surgery.  Justin bravely endured 8 hours of brain surgery in April 2007.

Justin will always have Moya Moya.  Many questions remain unanswered with MMD.  Is it genetic or environmental?  Why does it cause intense migraine-like headaches?  Why do symptoms vary from child to child?  Continued research is vitally important to promote better treatment and earlier diagnosis.

Pricing: Benefit – all proceeds from this event go directly to MMD research.
