Weekend Activities Around The Medfield Area: June 10-12

A historical tour, book sale Bass Pro Shop workshop scheduled for this weekend.

The weekend is just around the corner. If the only plans you have are not to stay home because lounging on the couch and watching TV just don’t cut it anymore, then don't worry, Medfield Patch is here to assist you! Check out our list of suggestions of events to attend, places to go, sites to see – all within driving distance of home. 

1. 17th Annual ‘Discover Medfield’ History Day

Where/When: 7 Frairy St., Medfield; Saturday, June 10, 9 a.m.

Why Go: Take a trolley ride into the past on the 17th Annual "Discover Medfield History Day." Join town historian, Richard DeSorgher as he hosts a trolley tour around the historical homes of Medfield. During the one-hour ride you will learn about the history and tales of each home.

There’s six trolley rides planned: 9 to 10 a.m.; 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.; 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. These trolley tours depart promptly in front of the Dwight-Derby House.

Pricing: Tickets cost $7.50 for adults and $5 for seniors and children under 12.  Tickets before June 11th are available at Lord's Department Store. All remaining tickets will be available to purchase at the Dwight-Derby House on the 11th.

2. Bass Pro Family Summer Camp Free Workshops & Crafts Events

Where/When: , 1 Bass Pro Dr, Foxboro; Saturday, June 11, 12 to 5 p.m.

Why Go: Bass Pro Shops is offering a free Family Summer Camp. Bring the whole family as you enjoy free crafts, photos, activities, workshops and more. Earn a free pin for every workshop you complete, while supplies last.

Saturday’s Workshops: 12 p.m. Fishing;
1 p.m.  Camping;
2 p.m.  Animal Identification; 3 p.m.; Archery
4 p.m.  Plants and Insects.

Free Crafts:  From 2 to 5 p.m. this weeks free craft: Make A Camping Photo Frame. Styles may vary. Free crafts available while supplies last.

3. Electric Youth in Concert at Showcase Live

Where/When: 23 Patriot Pl, Foxborough; Sunday, June 12, 6:30 p.m.

Why Go: Electric Youth is a dynamic ensemble of young singer-dancers backed by an eight-piece band of Boston’s finest musicians.
Doors open at 5 pm for 6:30 pm show.
Seating is first come first seated basis, so be sure to arrive early for best seats and enjoy a full dinner menu.

4. Dover Library House & Garden Tour

Where/When: , 56 Dedham St., Dover; Sunday, June 12, 11:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

Why Go: Tour three beautiful private homes and three magnificent private gardens - six venues in all.  Taste gourmet food from Sherborn Inn, Dover Market, and Dessert Works.  Watch plein-air artists at their easels in the gardens.  Live music provided by pianists in the homes. Each home is decorated by local expert floral designers. The Library Tour was the first of its kind in the area and remains a must-see event.

Where/When , 1315 Washington St, Norwood; Daily, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Why Go: Students and parents will have the opportunity to purchase their summer reading books and other best sellers. The CMS Library will receive a percentage of each sale.  Checks must be made out to Coakley Middle School.

Pricing: Free and open to all.
