Weekend Activities Around The Area: Feb. 18-20

1. Chilean Poet Neruda to be Explored at Concert:

Where/When: , 496 Main St., Medfield; Friday, Feb. 18 at 7:30 p.m.
Why Go: The musical ensemble Quinta Esencia will present its second program at the church, titled: "Gift from a Stranger: Pablo Neruda explored through music, stories and poetry." The ensemble will explore the Chilean poet's life and art through chamber music, stories and poetry. 
Pricing: Freewill donations will be accepted to offset costs of the concert series.

2Improv Soup to Perform at Burrell School in Foxborough:

Where/When: 16 Morse St., Foxboro, Burrell School Auditorium; Friday, Feb 18 at 7:30 p.m.
Why Go: Improv Soup is an improvisational comedy troupe made up of teenagers from all over southeastern Massachusetts that consistently put on entertaining shows for audiences. 
Pricing: Tickets are $3 for students, $5 for adults and will be sold at the door.

 Where/When: , 1 School St., Foxboro; Saturday, Feb. 19 at 8 p.m.
Why Go: The Orpheum Theatre presents a one-of-a-kind comedy night, hosted by, Late Night Comedian, Eddie Brill.
Pricing: General admission tickets are $15.

4. Barnaby Bright Plays Open Book Coffeehouse in Canton:

Where/When: Canton Public Library, 786 Washington St., Canton; Saturday, Feb. 19 at 7:30 p.m.
Why Go: This duo's music combines acoustic guitars, harmonies and quirky instruments with subtle electronic tweaks and has been featured on TV shows ER and Days of Our Lives. Persons interested in going can expect a relaxing , warm atmosphere of friendly people, good music, coffee and home-baked goodies. Doors open at 6:45 p.m.
Pricing: $8 for adults, $4 students. Tickets sold at the door.

5. A Night with Bobby "D" Old Time Rock & Roll Party:

Where/When: , 23 Dedham Ave, Needham; Saturday, Feb. 19 at 8 p.m.
Why Go: Join Bob DeNoble for a night of old-time rock and roll music and dancing in Parish Hall to benefit the church.
Pricing: $15 donation.
