Water Main Break Closes Indian Hill Road

A water main break on the lower section of Indian Hill Road occurred Thursday morning and there is currently no water service on Nauset Street, Penobscot Street, Mohawk Street and the section of Indian Hill Road.

"A further complicating factor is that [Indian Hill Road] has been undermined as a result of the water break," Medfield Chief of Police Robert Meaney Jr. said. "Once the water main break is repaired, the Highway Department will need to repair Indian Hill Road between the two ends of Nauset Street. If you look on a map of Medfield you will see exactly where the issue is."

Meaney said the Highway Department is working on the break but there is "no time estimate for the water service to be returned or for the road to be opened."

Traffic is currently being detoured around the break by using Nauset Street. Check back for updates on the situation.
