Sean Collier Honored During Wednesday Memorial Service

Following a memorial at MIT attended by more than 15,000 officers, students, and family members, Officer Sean Collier was laid to rest after he was killed in the line of duty.

Sean Collier is gone. But it was never more clear than during a memorial service attended by more than 15,000 people from across the nation that he will not soon be forgotten.

Collier, the Wilmington native and Somerville resident, was killed in the line of duty last week while sitting in his police cruiser on the Massachusetts Institute of Technology campus that he patrolled.

On Wednesday, a massive police turnout honored Collier's memory during a memorial service at MIT's Briggs Field.
