Rhode Island Reports First Case of Fungal Meningitis

Woman received injection from Ocean State Pain Management in RI,

 

Rhode Island health officials report the state's first case of fungal meningitis in a nationwide problem linked to steroid injections prepared by New England Compound Center in Framingham, according to TheBostonChannel.com

The Rhode Island Department of Health on Monday said a woman in her 40s is hospitalized and receiving treatment. It says she got a spinal injection at Ocean State Pain Management of Woonsocket on Sept. 22.
