St. Patrick’s Day is today, which commemorates Ireland’s beloved patron saint. St. Paddy's Day is known all over the world for being a day of celebration and good cheer.

To celebrate the occasion many rely on green beer, Shepherd's Pie and other traditional Irish fare. This week, Medfield Patch takes a look at ways to celebrate the holiday around the area.

1.  Stop by the Main Street establishment for green pitchers of Harp or other Irish inspired drinks. Be sure to check out the Chef's St. Patty's Day inspired specials as well. If you're looking to stay in town, Noon Hill Grill is the ideal destination for St. Paddy's Day celebration. 

2. Irish Cultural Centre of New England. The Centre in Canton opens at 3 p.m. and has live Irish music and a full Irish buffet. More information is available here.

3. Bar Louie. "Feel lucky all week long!" Celebrate with Bar Louie at Patriot Place starting March 14 - 17. Enjoy $4 Guinness, $1 Cups of Guinness Soup and $5 Reuben Sliders.

4. Waxy O'Connor's Irish Pub and Restaurant. You can guarantee this authentic Irish Pub will be rocking on St. Patrick's Day. With a menu and a bar stocked full of traditional Irish cuisine, Waxy's is the place to be. Get there early to see live Irish music. Element 78 band, a rock band from Boston, will be performing at 8:00 p.m.

5.  The Boston Legends St. Paddy’s Day Rock and Roll show is one to see in Foxborough. J. Geils Band, Aerosmith, Boston, The Joe Perry Project, Farrenheit, Jon Butcher Axis, and Bellevue Cadillac are just a few of the amazing bands that will be performing at 7:30pm on St. Patrick's Day.
