Patch Picks: Five Summer Camps in the Area

Welcome to Patch Picks, Patch's feature highlighting great places, events, services and organizations in the Medfield Area.

Everwood Day Camp in Sharon: There will be an open house this coming Sunday from 11:00 a.m. - 3:00 p.m. Learn about the summer camp offerings for activities including arts and crafts, archery, sports, boating, dance, pioneering and more.

Mansfield Park & Recreation Department: Non-residential registrations for Summer Camp will be accepted starting Monday, April 11. Camp begins July 5 and runs for eight weeks to Aug. 26. Camp serves children ages 5 to 12, with Leader in Training and Counselor in Training programs for 13 to 16 year-olds who have previously attended camp. SMARTS Summer Institute in Attleboro: The summer program offers young people, grades kindergarten through 12, with an opportunity to explore their creative potential under the guidance of dynamic professional artists from around the region. Students explore creative writing, dance, drama, film/video, instrumental, vocal and/or visual arts through process and performance. The program runs July 5 to 29.

Charles River Creative Arts Program in Dover: The camp is a multi-art summer program for kids ages 8-15. Enrollment must be for either four or eight weeks. The first session is from June 27 to July 22 and the second session runs from July 27 to August 20. The cost is $2300 per session with lunch included and there is a $500 per session deposit required. YMCA: Your local YMCA offers day and residential camps all over eastern Mass. including camps Ponka Poag (Canton), Silver Lake (Bellingham), and Invensys (Foxboro). Check with your local YMCA facility for applications and fees or check the Y camp website here.
