Medfield Resident Competes in Junior National Shotgun Championship

Bennett Palmer represented Massachusetts in the Junior National Shotgun Championship in Sparta, IL., July 13-16.

Bennett Palmer, Medfield High Class of 2011, represented Massachusetts in the Junior National Shotgun Championship in Sparta, IL July 13–16. Bennett was part of the Fin, Fur and Feather Hotshot Team consisting of Jeff Baudisch, Nate Lundie and Tyler Swanburg of Wellesley and Matt Reinemann of Dover.

The Hotshots started the season by winning the Massachusetts Junior Trap team competition on June 11, with Bennett finishing third in the individual standings.

The Junior National Championship in Sparta, IL. attracted over 1,500 athletes from 42 states. Each athlete shot up to 600 targets of Skeet, Trap and Sporting Clays over a four-day period. The Hotshots came in 16th (top third) in their division for team Trap, with Bennett shooting a 189/200 and finishing in the top 25 percent in the individual Trap standings.

Bennett will be shooting with the Hotshots at their Millis Club through the summer until he heads to Drexel University in Philadelphia to study engineering in the fall.
