The Medfield Angels/Neighbor Brigade group is supporting three young people from Stoneham who were standing next to the second bomb when it exploded last week. Two of the three have lost part of a leg.

The Medfield Angels/Neighbor Brigade community group is raising money for the Webb and Norden families who were injured in last week’s Boston Marathon bombings.

This message went out to Angels this week:

One of our Angels contacted us this morning as she was greatly touched by this event. Family friends were severely injured at the Boston marathon last week. I'm sure many of you have heard their story.

Jacqui Webb, her boyfriend Paul Norden and his brother JP Norden were badly injured in the horrific attacks. Jacqui has shrapnel damage to her legs and has undergone 2 surgeries and has a couple more to go. Her boyfriend Paul and his brother JP both lost their right legs and have already gone through several surgeries and still have more to come. As you can imagine this has put a tremendous amount of stress on their family.

A fund for Jacqui and the Norden family has been set up to help with the overwhelming medical bills and expenses they will face over the next few months.

While the group typically supports families in Medfield, and it seems no Medfield residents were physically injured during last the Boston Marathon bombings, Medfield Angel group member Susan Sipple asked for an exception to support these family friends from Stoneham.

Sipple said that a family friend is the father-in-law of Jacqui's sister.

He told us about Jacqui's injuries as well as those of her boyfriend and his brother. My understanding is that the brothers were both roofers and now with both of them each having lost a leg, they will no longer be able to do roofing.

Hearing not only about their horrific injuries but also about how it will impact them when they try to get back to "normal" made me want to do something to help them in this struggle/journey/process...

Sipple said she lived outside New York City at the time of the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks and "saw first hand the devastation as so many lost loved ones....It is heartbreaking to me that anyone would target innocent people and if we can help them in any small way then we should."

Now, members of the Medfield Neighbor Brigade have begun contributing to the "Jacqui, Paul and JP Recovery Fund" at GoFundMe.com where donors have raised $72,938 in one week for the trio.

The site, run by Jacqui's two sisters, offers in-depth details about the recovery of these three young people who were standing near the second bomb when it exploded at the Boston Marathon.

A post on Tuesday read,

Such a great day today. For as much evil there is in this world there is an abundance of love and hope that overpowers it. Both Paul and JP had surgeries today that went well. Both boys are awake, talking and eating. Rob Gronkowski and Steven Ridley of the New England Patriots paid Jacqui a visit in the hospital as well as Bradley Cooper! And if that wasn't enough, Lester Holt from Dateline NBC came and spoke with Jacqui and her story will air on Wednesday night at 8pm. Hearing about how Paul and JP saved her life will bring everyone to tears I'm sure. Those boys are heroes and our family will be forever grateful for what they did. Thank you all for your unbelievable support through this nightmare. Brighter days ahead for Jacqui, Paul and JP!

The sisters also frequently update the "WebbandNordenRecoveryFund" Facebook page
