Looking Ahead: Feb. 14-20

A preview of what to expect this week around town and on Medfield Patch.

Here's a look at what's on tap this week around town and on :

Monday, Feb. 14: Happy Valentine's Day and Happy Spring Training for Red Sox fans. The basketball teams take the court against Holliston tonight. The girls' travel to Holliston at 6:30 p.m. while the boys' host the Panthers at the same time. Check out previews and predictions of each game in Monday's Warriors Game Day. The Medfield Music Association will meet in the high school chorus room at 7 p.m. In Michael McInnis' weekly column, Tongue in Cheek, he tackles the issues revolving around childhood obesity and state regulators looking to ban high calorie snacks from vending machines in public schools. Mass Wildlife recently gave a presentation on Lyme Disease in Medfield to raise awareness of the disease and ways to reduce incidents, Theresa Knapp recaps that meeting and provides information from the presentation. 

Tuesday, Feb. 15: There will be a free blood pressure clinic at at 11:30 a.m. CSA meeting will be held at the school at 9:30 a.m. The Medfield High School basketball teams tip-off against Millis and the boys' hockey team takes on Medway. Check out Tuesday's Warriors Game Day for previews and predictions of all the action. The TARGET High School Advisory & Socrates Cafe Philosophy Club meeting will be held in the library at 5 p.m. Grab a bite to eat at from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and a portion of the proceeds will support the MHS girls' hockey team. Or if you're further down Main Street and want to stop in Subway for a quick meal, proceeds from 3 to 9 p.m. will support CSA.

Wednesday, Feb. 16: The Medfield girls' hockey team faces off against Franklin at Veteran's Arena at 4 p.m. and the boys' hockey team takes on Medway in Canton at 8:30 p.m. Check Wednesday's Warriors Game Day for previews and predictions of both games. The MHS Music Department will present a mid-winter concert at 7 p.m. open to everyone. Admission is free. The Medfield Board of Health will meet at Town Hall at 6:30 p.m. The First Baptist Church of Medfield women's Bible study group meets at 7:30 p.m. Medfield Patch will reveal the Whiz Kid of the Week. 

Thursday, Feb. 17: Medfield's Young Adult Library Committee will meet at 5 p.m. The St. Edward Parish Sit & Knit weekly gathering will be held at 9:30 a.m. The First Baptist Church of Medfield men's Bible study group will meet at 7 pm. There will be a ViewPoint photo gallery of Medfield residents volunteering to clear out snow from the future Lowell Mason House site. There will also be a Get Out & Go feature, previewing the weekend ahead.

Friday, Feb. 18: The Medfield High School basketball teams take on Norton in both teams regular season finales. 

Saturday, Feb. 19: The girls' hockey team takes on Dover-Sherborn at 8 p.m. in Walpole. There will be games & crafts at the library from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The Medfield High School Jazz Band will compete in the Charles Mingus competition in New York. 

Sunday, Feb. 20: The Medfield boys' JV hockey team faces Stoughton at 10:40 a.m. Medfield High School Jazz Band is in New York for the Charles Mingus competition.
