Help Needed Today at Hinkley Park in Preparation for Lowell Mason House

Snow shovelers needed at Hinkley Pond on Green Street in preparation for the Lowell Mason house move next week.

Help is needed today at Hinkley Park on Green Street to clear out snow from the new basement of what will be the Lowell Mason house.

"I know shoveling snow or working outside is probably the last thing any of us want to do," said Medfield resident Bob Luttman. "But I need some people today to help clean out the new basement and shovel some snow for the Lowell Mason house move next week. The weather's messed with our schedule a little."

The expected move of the Lowell Mason house is scheduled for Feb. 22, but that date has not been made official yet.

Luttman is asking for people over the age of 16 to bring shovels and wheelbarrows if possible. Work will begin at 11 a.m. and will continue until the space is cleaned out.

"We need to remove some concrete forms, some scrap lumber and dig the snow out. Then the contractors can resume work on Monday," Luttman said. "The work requires climbing in and out of the basement and, of course, digging. It will be a bit of work. Consider it a good mid-winter workout."

If you are able to help, meet Luttman at Green Street today and "do as much as you are able," he said.
