2. Applebee's

Deal time: March Madness

Where to find it: Locations in Walpole, Medway and Milford locally

Got a family of sports fans? Throughout March Madness for college basketball you can head to your nearest Applebee's and get an appetizer to share and two entrees for $20. Perfect for a family outing, or find a babysitter and have some mom and dad time.

3. SKY restaurant

Think you can't take your family for fine dining on your budget? Dine at SKY with your family on Sundays and for each entrée ordered from the regular dinner menu, each child under the age of 10 eats for free from the kids menu (one child per adult).

Last week, I rediscovered my love for Pandora.com – an online radio station that can be customized to play only the style of music you select.  You create a user account consisting of your email address and minimal other information for login purposes. You then can create a station based on a type of music by entering an artist’s name, a song name, or even a genre. Pandora.com serves up music similar to your selection. You can give each song a “thumbs up” or a “thumbs down” to further customize your station. The kids and I created a Family Dance Party station and boogied on down for hours while we baked some homemade cookies. Pandora.com will play a short ad every 30 minutes or so to help cover their costs, or you can subscribe for a total ad-free experience for $36/year.
