Five Things You Need to Know Today in Medfield, July 28

Here's a look at the day ahead.

Today's Forecast: Thursday's weather, according to the National Weather Service  based in Taunton, calls for mostly sunny, with a high near 83. Calm wind becoming south between 4 and 7 mph. Thursday Night: A slight chance of showers between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m., then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 4 a.m. Patchy fog after 2 a.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 67. South wind between 5 and 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.

Notable Events:

  • MEMO, The Medfield Employers and Merchants Organization, is pleased to welcome Acoustic Fire to their 2011  series at the Gazebo in front of the at 6 p.m. Acoustic Fire, featuring Norwood Singer Maria Breen, plays a wide variety of familiar rock, country-rock and dance music.  Acoustic Fire is rocking fun for all ages. 
  • The  will be open today from 2 to 5:30 p.m. on the grounds of the  at 26 North St. Fresh produce and food will be offered by local farmers and producers. Parking is available behind the Church.
  • , Center For the Arts, will hold a reception tonight for their new art exhibit entitled:  from 6 to 8 p.m.  Urban Scenes, Buildings and Places, features art by Nancy Deveno, Sean Flood, Rick Legge, and David Sturtevant and will be on display until September 1, 2011.  The reception is free and open to the public.
