Five Things You Need to Know Today in Medfield, Aug. 4

Here's a look at the day ahead.

Today's Forecast: Thursday's weather, according to the National Weather Service  based in Taunton, calls for a chance of showers, mainly before 1 p.m. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 75. East wind between 6 and 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 30 percent. Thursday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 59. Northeast wind between 3 and 5 mph.

Notable Events:

  • The  will meet at 6:30 pm at the Medfield  on the second floor. 
  • MEMO, The Medfield Employers and Merchants Organization, is pleased to welcome the Shane Wood Jazz Trio to their 2011  series at the Gazebo in front of the at 6 p.m. Come check out the smooth Jazz with Medfield resident, Shane Wood on piano and vocals, Neil Kruszkowski on saxophone and vocals and Bruce Owens on drums.  The trio plays a unique blend of jazz arrangements, including songs from contemporary artists and classic composers as well as original compositions.  You can learn more at www.asiawoodmusic.com. Bring the family, friends and neighbors - a blanket and dinner - and enjoy the show.
  • The  will be open today from 2 to 5:30 p.m. on the grounds of the  at 26 North St. Fresh produce and food will be offered by local farmers and producers.
