Congratulations Medfield Boys' Lacrosse: The 2011 Medfield High School boys' lacrosse team won their fifth state title in program history and second straight championship Friday night after knocking off Algonquin in the MIAA Division 2 State Final. Way to go Warriors!

Boston Bruins Parade: If you are a fan of hockey, watch TV news or read Medfield Patch regularly then you certainly know that the Boston Bruins won the 2011 Stanley Cup on Wednesday, June 15 and that the city of Boston will be with a rolling rally parade Saturday at 11 a.m. , highlighting everything you need to know if you are planning to attend. Be sure to send in your photos, videos or stories about the parade or Bruins' pride in general and have it published on Medfield Patch! Congratulations Bruins!

Notable Events:

  • Medfield Fire Department's Annual Chicken BBQ will be held Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at the Medfield Fire Station. The event is put together by the Medfield Firefighters Relief Association. On the menu: $7 for a half chicken; $5 for a quarter chicken; Potato salad; Rolls' Coleslaw and Cranberry sauce. 
  • The Ugandan "Watoto" Children's Choir will perform a free concert at the United Church of Christ on Saturday at 7 p.m. “Concerts of Hope” are a colorful and lively demonstration of the life-changing love of God experienced by the children of Watoto.  Audiences are informed of the plight of Africa’s needy children and given an opportunity to support the vital work of Watoto in Uganda.

Medfield Youth Baseball and Softball Championship Day: Starting at 9 a.m. Saturday at Wheelock School and 11 a.m. at Metacomet Park will be MYBS Championship Day festivities. Girls' softball games: 9 a.m. - 3rd and 4th grade championship; 11 a.m. 5th and 6th graders; 1 p.m. - 7th and 8th grade championship. For the festivities at Metacomet: 11 a.m.  - major skills competition; 1 p.m. farm league championship; 3 p.m. - AAA League championship game; 5 p.m. - Majors League championship.
