Weekend Forecast: Saturday's weather, according to the National Weather Service based in Taunton, calls for scattered showers, then showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm after 4 p.m. Patchy fog before 2 p.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a high near 73. East wind between 3 and 6 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Saturday Night: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before midnight, then isolated showers between midnight and 3 a.m. Patchy fog after 8 p.m. Otherwise, mostly cloudy, with a low around 58. Calm wind. Winds could gust as high as 115 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.  Sunday: Patchy fog before 9 a.m. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 77. West wind between 5 and 8 mph. Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 58.

Notable Events:

  • Family games and crafts at the Medfield Public Library will begin Saturday at 11 a.m. and end at 3 p.m. in the activity room. There will be board games, puzzles and crafts. Children of all ages are invited. 
  • Medfield Library holds International Pot Luck Lunch on Saturday at noon at the Gazebo. The lunch is for the whole family and coincides with the summer's reading theme of cultures of the world. In case of rain, it will be held in the Activity Room. To register, click HERE.

Stop by Rocky Woods: There's plenty of going on at Rocky Woods this weekend as Dover's Powisset Farm Weekly Vegetable Farm stand will take place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and the Great American Backyard Campout be held at Rocky Woods from 9 a.m. Saturday to noon on Sunday. An optional cookout Saturday night will be provided and cooked community style. Space is limited and pre-registration is required. (508) 785-0339 or charlesrivervalley@ttor.org 
Price per campsite (up to four individuals): Members $20; Non-Members $30.  Additional person $5.

Medfield American Legion Weekend: It's a busy weekend for the local Post 110 American Legion Baseball club as Medfield will play Brookline in a doubleheader on Saturday at Curt Schilling Field, beginning at 2 p.m. and host Needham Sunday at 5 p.m. at Curt Schilling Field.
